The Orchard invites us into the fragile world of a family yearning for connection and struggling with the end of their world as they know it. Threatened with foreclosure and the loss of their beloved orchard, they face unstoppable, destructive forces that dismantle their lives like the breaking of a string.

The Orchard is a hybrid piece of theater and can be seen in two formats:

Live, in-person performances at the Baryshnikov Arts Center
450 W 37th Street, New York, NY

Live, immersive, interactive experience online — accessible worldwide

And what does it mean dying? Perhaps man has a hundred senses, and only the five we know are lost at death, while the other ninety-five remain alive. Trofimov, The Cherry Orchard

Enter Chekhov’s universe, either in-person or online, and explore a beautiful immersive environment and a strange, fragmented encounter with the characters of The Cherry Orchard. This Off-Broadway adaptation of the play will welcome live audiences as well as virtual participants from around the globe to experience the play, witness the prayers, confessions and dreams of the characters, and make choices that affect what happens next. In this deeply human telling, genres collide and no two performances are exactly the same.
