Arlekin Players has launched it’s Zero Gravity (zero-G) Virtual Theater Lab, a very special initiative to make the arts accessible to all – by way of virtual theater! We set an ambitious goal to raise $50,000 for this endeavor. As of 1/23, we have surpassed our goal by almost $3,000!  With all of your support, we can make (zero-G) Lab a reality!

Your generous gifts will help equip  the (zero-G) Lab with state of the art equipment and technology to bring theater to your home and the homes of people around the world!

The COVID-19 pandemic has had a profound negative impact on societies and individuals, worldwide. Stay at home orders have led to feelings of loneliness and isolation, especially among the vulnerable populations. Arlekin’s virtual stage initiative aims to build an increased connection with the community and decrease feelings of isolation now and in the future by providing a virtual platform for our artistic endeavors. To be able to do this, we have started a campaign to raise funds for the much needed technology to be able to produce virtual theater.

It all began in May with a live online run of State vs. Natasha Banina, which received overwhelming audience responses and raves from Boston critics; it was then chosen as a New York Times Critic’s Pick, alongside coverage in Time Out, New York Magazine, and many others. The piece went viral, with audiences tuning in from 40 states and 16 countries — among them, artistic directors, higher ed program leaders, and major artists from across the world. Through a series of eight free performances over three months, Natasha was shared with nearly 1,500 people around the world. The company was called a “genre-carver” and the artistic and fiscal risks of devising a new work in a new medium, presented live and for free over the internet

Now, when it is needed most, Arlekin has the opportunity to bring live theatre to audiences around the world, thanks to the help of all our generous donors!

Thank you for believing is us and investing in our future!
