The Seagull – MetroWest

“Imagine, if you will, a production of “The Seagull,” Anton Chekhov’s so-called “comedy in four acts,” staged in a Soviet-era Gulag, with the actors so close that you can nearly reach out and touch them. The whole of it is bathed in dark shadows and set on a circle of sand, as if the earth beneath them is always breaking apart into tiny specks of dust. This drama unfolds like a dream that turns into a nightmare just before you wake.”

“Led by [Anne] Gottlieb and {Nael] Nacer, two of the most gifted actors of the Boston theater community, the ensemble is superb in the portrayals of these characters, letting them explore risky paths that lead to feelings seldom exposed in such searing manner.”
